Thompson Coburn is proud to announce that Matthew A. Braunel, Matthew R. Buesching, Erica L. Freeman, Milada R. Goturi, Leigh Svetanics Gutting,
Michele C. Kloeppel, James P. Moorhead, Michael L. Nepple, Sharon B. Rosenberg, Clyde L. Smith and Paul T. Sonderegger have been elected to partnership
in our firm effective January 1, 2010.
Matt Braunel practices in the firm’s
Intellectual Property group. Matt's practice focuses on intellectual
property, patent law, trademark law and copyright law. He has studied
radiopharmaceutical chemistry on a graduate level and holds B.S. degrees in
chemistry and mathematics from Rockhurst College. Matt earned his J.D. (magna
cum laude) from Saint Louis University School of Law.
Matt Buesching is a member of the firm’s
Real Estate group. He represents real estate developers, multifamily
property owners, financial institutions and corporate clients in a wide variety
of real estate transactions throughout the United States. Matt holds a J.D.
from Vanderbilt University Law School and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University.
Erica Freeman practices in the firm’s
Labor and Employment group. She represents clients in federal and state
courts throughout the country in employment-related litigation, including
discrimination, noncompete actions, and wage and hour cases. Erica also
practices traditional labor law where she has handled unfair labor practices,
grievance arbitrations and union elections. Erica holds a J.D. from Washington
University and a B.A. from Indiana University.
Milada Goturi is a member of the firm’s
Health Care group. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a
registered nurse in the medical ICU at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Milada
concentrates her practice on health care regulatory and compliance matters,
government investigations and corporate health care transactions, including
mergers, acquisitions and health care provider joint venture arrangements.
Milada holds a J.D. (summa cum laude, Class Valedictorian, Health Law
Certificate) from Saint Louis University School of Law and a B.S.N. (summa cum
laude) from Deaconess College of Nursing.
Leigh Svetanics Gutting is a member of the
firm’s
Employee Benefits group. She practices human resources law, focusing on
the representation of employers in the area of employee benefits. Leigh is a
former clerk to the Honorable Raymond W. Gruender of the United States Court of
Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. She holds a J.D. (magna cum laude,
Health Law Certificate) from Saint Louis University School of Law and a B.A. (summa
cum laude) from Saint Louis University.
Michele Kloeppel practices in the firm’s
Corporate and Securities group. With ten years of prior in-house
corporate experience, she specializes in corporate and transactional matters
for public and private companies. Michele holds a J.D. from Washington
University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
James Moorhead is based in the firm’s Chicago
office and practices in the
Real Estate group. He focuses his national practice on all aspects of
real estate involving office, industrial and retail properties. Jamie holds a
J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a B.A. from Georgetown
University.
Michael Nepple is a member of the firm’s
Intellectual Property group. He focuses his practice on intellectual
property litigation, particularly patent and media law litigation. Michael
holds a J.D. from Saint Louis University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
from the University of Iowa.
Sharon Rosenberg practices in the firm’s
Business Litigation group. She focuses on complex commercial
litigation, including class actions and antitrust. Sharon has also handled
appeals before multiple federal appellate courts and state supreme courts. She
is a former law clerk to the Honorable Phyllis A. Kravitch of the United States
Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit. Sharon holds a J.D. from Columbia
University School of Law (highest academic distinction) and a B.A. (magna cum
laude) from Rice University.
Clyde Smith is a member of the firm’s
Intellectual Property practice. He focuses on obtaining patents for
inventions, invalidating issued patents, and providing counseling, opinions and
litigation support regarding infringement and patentability. Clyde holds a J.D.
from Saint Louis University School of Law and a B.S. (magna cum laude)
in Aerospace Engineering from Saint Louis University, Parks College. Prior to
joining the firm, Clyde worked as an engineer in the aerospace and biomedical
industries.
Paul Sonderegger practices in the firm’s
Environmental and
Real Estate and
Construction groups. His environmental work focuses on litigation and
regulatory compliance matters, including CERCLA cases, Clean Water Act and
Clean Air Act matters, and federal and state mining cases. His real estate and
construction work focuses on prosecuting and defending eminent domain lawsuits,
commercial lease disputes and complex construction cases, including private
developments and large public construction projects. Paul holds a J.D. (with
distinction) from the University of Iowa and a B.A. (with honors) from
Washington University.
